Two trained attendants work every stair-assist trip. Depending on the staircase and the passenger, they use a stair chair, a track-style stair climber, or a controlled two-person carry. The passenger is secured and supported the entire time, and the descent happens step by step at a deliberate pace rather than in a hurry.
When you call, we ask how many steps there are, whether the staircase turns, how wide it is, whether there's a handrail, and what's at the top and bottom. It sounds like a lot of questions, but it's how we make sure the crew that shows up already knows what they're walking into.
